Hi!
A quick note before Tuesday’s essay.
Over the past few months, All That I Have Met has gradually become something clearer than when I started - the writing, the reporting and the podcast have found their rhythm.
From next week, here’s what you can expect: Every Tuesday I’ll publish a new piece of writing. Some will be Below The Fold — reported essays and investigations. Others will be personal essays, including Don’t Let Me Keep You.
Many of the reported essays grow out of conversations from the podcast. Rather than publishing everything at once, the writing will come first, giving the ideas room to breathe. The conversation that inspired each essay will drop the following week, with subscribers receiving it by email on Thursdays.
One final change — the reported essays and investigations will increasingly become part of the paid subscription. Those pieces often take days — or weeks — to research, report and write, and paid subscriptions make that work possible. The personal essays and the podcast will remain free.
If something makes you think, laugh or see the world a little differently, please send it to someone else who might enjoy it. Independent publications grow because readers tell other readers.
And if you listen to the podcast, please consider following it in your podcast app of choice and leaving a rating or review. It sounds like a small thing, but it’s one of the main ways new listeners discover the show.
Thank you, as always, for reading, listening, sharing and replying. I’m enormously grateful to everyone who’s joined me on this journey.
On Tuesday, I’ll be publishing Betting the World, an essay inspired by my recent conversation with Dr. Comfort Ero, President and CEO of the International Crisis Group. I hope you’ll enjoy it.
Have a great weekend.
Meredith
